We hope you enjoy the amazing journey your children will have this year – concentrating on social and life skills, learning about playing and working together, developing confidence and having loads of fun.
In the coming weeks we will post dates for lots of social activities for our preschool families.
You may have noticed the new wider footpath, teacher’s carpark, garden beds and side fence at the front entrance to the preschool. Whitehorse City Council has funded these fantastic upgrades to improve the amenity and safety of our preschool. Please remind children to use the paths, especially as the plants are establishing.

Nearing the end of 2008 gives parents the opportunity to reflect how much our children have learned and what they’ve gained this past year.
We like to do the same and like to celebrate this by having the Heatherdale Preschool Christmas Party!
All families are welcome including those who are new and attending the kinder in 2009. So come along and meet other families in the kinder community! Enjoy a jumping castle, face painting and much more!
If you’ve visited the kinder in the past week you would have noticed a few changes to our playground.
One of our favorite activities and play areas in the playground, the sandpit, has new decking surrounding it. The children were so excited to see the renovation to their sandpit.

Keep an eye out in the near future for the sandpit to be freshly painted too which will complete the sandpit transformation.
Along with the new decking we have also had new steps installed leading up to the playground.

Stormwater drains around the kinder have been livened up with some neat stencilling to help raise awareness of the impact that litter has on our beautiful environment and wildlife.
It was a good day, enjoyed by all. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped out on the day!
Water Saving Facility Open day
Due to a project funded by the Federal Government’s Community Water Grants program, we at Heatherdale Preschool are proud of our new water efficient kinder.
A 4500 litre rainwater tank has been installed that collects the water from the roof and is used in the flushing systems of the toilets. The water is also used to water our native garden on the premises.
The bathroom facilities have also had a makeover with new automatic shut-off taps and dual flushing systems on the toilets.
Our teachers and children are proud to be proactive in water conservation and protecting the environment.
